How do you strike in a job where your absence might endanger someone's life?
This panel session will focus on the particular struggles faced by healthcare and care service workers in their efforts to unionize and engage in collective bargaining to improve their pay and working conditions. We'll examine the unique challenges faced by these workers in their efforts to organize and strike, and hear from trade unionists on the front line who have been involved in the most recent strikes and disputes. We'll also discuss practical strategies for supporting union members; including mobilizing public support, building coalitions across different sectors, and creating meaningful solidarity and support networks.
