Steve Turner

Steve Turner is Assistant General Secretary of Unite, Britain and Ireland's largest trade union. He is responsible for the union's manufacturing sector and leads on Unite’s strategy to diversify our economy and bring desperately needed skilled jobs and investment to our regions.

Steve has led for Unite in their relationship with government, Labour and the TUC during this crisis, Brexit and in meeting the challenges of the climate emergency. As we rebuild and recover from Covid, he has led the demand to ‘build back better’ and was a key architect of Labour’s green new deal to realise the opportunities that a green industrial revolution provides to support the jobs of the future while protecting our planet alongside towns and cities left behind by globalisation and failed austerity politics.
