Dom Davies

Dom is an author and researcher who has written extensively about the use of comics and graphic art in contexts of social struggle. His book Urban Comics explored comics collectives who have challenged violent forms of urban planning in cities across the global South. He is also the editor with Candida Rifkind of Documenting Trauma in Comics and the co-author with Candida of Graphic Refuge, which shows how comics artists have challenged the demonisation of refugees in our visual culture.

He is currently working with Haya Alfarhan on graphic art responses to the genocide in Gaza since 7 October 2023, and he'll be talking about some examples from this project in this session.
