Doina Cornell

Doina Cornell served as councillor from 2012-2024 on Stroud District Council and as council leader from 2018-2022. She left the Labour party in 2022 after she was blocked from standing in the parliamentary selection process. She has been involved in community and political activism her whole life, is currently chair of GL11 Community Hub, and has just published Our Ocean's Broken Heart, a personal journey to the frontline of climate change based on her sailing voyages to the Arctic and South Pacific.
