Socialising Housing
Sunday, 5th April 12:30 – 13:40
Bristol is England’s third most expensive city to rent. The private rented and temporary sector is bad quality and making us sick. And for 15 years, we’ve been losing more social homes than we’ve gained.
But our city is fighting back. Tenants unions fighting for better conditions in rentals. Community groups demanding action on runaway rents. And Bristol people demanding more social homes.
We’re seeing a shift - the argument for socialised housing is a battleground we have won before and can again!
A panel will consider the history of - and current struggle for - social housing before participants are invited to consider how they might join that struggle.
What to expect
The first half will be a panel discussion. In the second half, we will break up into smaller groups so the whole audience can discuss these issues.
