Religion and Socialism
Marx famously described religion as the opiate of the masses. Is it possible to be both religious and left-wing? How does one juggle both parts of that identity? What are the risks of mixing religion and progressive society, and how does liberation theology fit into this?
We'll be joined by left-wing experts on the subject to discuss these questions and the history of religion, socialism, and communism; how they influence each other; and how socialists should respond to religious teachings.
