
Ruth Pearson
Ruth Pearson is Emeritus Professor at the University of Leeds with decades of experience of research and activism about women workers in different parts of the world. She has published widely on women's employment in Latin America, Europe and South East Asia and has worked as a consultant for a range of international organisations including UNDP, DFDCO, EU, and CIDA.
An economist, she is a trustee of the UK Women's Budget Group. She was the Principal Investigator on the Striking Women project and co-author of Striking Women Struggles and Strategies of South Asian Women Workers from Grunwick to Gate Gourmet (Lawrence & Wishart 2018) with Sundari Anitha, as well a number of academic and political articles.
