The Early Years Crisis
The Den, Trinity Centre
Sunday, 18th May 14:30 – 15:40
The early years sector is in crisis. Parents are paying extortionate and unsustainable nursery fees. Educators are experiencing burnout, job insecurity and poor pay. Early years settings are closing down while remaining ones are struggling to provide education and care to increasing numbers of children with too little funding. And children’s right to play is under threat with constant pressures to get ‘school ready’.
How is this all affecting children’s education and care? What would early years education look like if it was run for people and not for profit? How can educators and families work to make a better early years system that works for all?
