Prevent Duty: A Radical Safeguarding Approach

Fyfe Hall, Trinity Centre

Saturday, 17th May 13:00 – 14:10

Teachers, healthcare workers and social workers are under legal pressure to be co-opted into the long arm of a disciplinary state by means of the Prevent guidelines. It purports to stop the rise of extremism, variously defined, but Prevent is not fit for purpose. This session explores why, and invites participants to consider what a radical safeguarding approach might look like instead.
